Synopsis

In this intimate short documentary, On Queer Aging and Endings explores the layered experiences of aging, illness, and mortality within queer and transgender communities. At its heart is a tender conversation between the renowned Norwegian trans activist Esben Esther Pirelli Benestad facing advanced-stage cancer and their partner, navigating the unknown together. Blending vérité footage, quiet moments, and poetic imagery, the film invites viewers to witness how love, identity, and existential reflection intertwine at life’s threshold. A meditation on care, legacy, and what it means to live—and end—authentically.
