Synopsis
Mathias, 18, is at the age when he has to make choices about his future, while his relationship with the world and those close to him has been turned upside down since he began a gender transition. Blocked by his anxieties, he isolates himself. Until one day a man arrives at his door claiming to be Mathias, fifteen years his senior. Their conversation will help him put into words what he is feeling, and learn to open up to others once again.
Director Biography – Florent Thys
Florent Thys is a young Belgian filmmaker born in Wavre in 1997. He moved to Brussels for his studies and, in 2024, earned a Master’s in Performing Arts and Broadcast Communication Technology: Film Directing Specialization with high distinction. In 2020, he began his gender transition and now identifies as a transgender man. He is interested in both fiction and documentary, focusing on creating films that explore personal topics while embedding them in a broader reflection on society and the world around him. He frequently addresses themes related to gender identity, the relationship with the body, and how to navigate life beyond societal norms.
