Synopsis

In the midst of a journey of profound self-discovery, two friends delve into their deepest personal moments, shattering the silence as they confront their hidden desires. This 12-minute short film is a thought-provoking exploration of body politics, censorship, gender norms, and societal taboos that will leave you pondering long after the credits roll.

Director Biography – Amina Maher

Amina Maher (b. Tehran, 1992) is a filmmaker and artist whose works train her unblinking gaze on the breakdown of the family structure, shame culture, and patriarchal myths. Her films have been part of Cannes Film Festival, San Sebastián International Film Festival, CPH:DOX Forum, and Shorts México among many others. Her first short directorial film, Letter to My Mother (20Min 2019), has received worldwide attention with +200 Festival Selections and +50 Awards. Her trilogy, THREE SHORT FILMS directed by Maher, was part of the Frauen Film Festival Dortmund-Köln in 2022. Her first directorial feature film has been part of Berlinale Dok Station Lab in 2023 as well as FID Lab Marseille, Dok Fest München Forum, and Baltic Sea Docs Forum in 2022. She has a BA in Film & TV from Limkokwing University in Malaysia and MA in Film Directing from Babelsberg Film University in Germany.
