Director Statement

I am fascinated by anonymous hookups – that uncanny feeling when you intentionally put yourself in potential danger in pursuit of a night’s (or afternoon’s) pleasure. Through dark humor, I want to share the fear, adrenalin, and arousal you get when you go to have sex with a stranger and catch yourself mumbling, “I hope he doesn’t kill me. I want to shine a comedic light on the strange relationship in a hookup: the part-connection, part-transaction that straddles intimacy and anonymity. I want to depict a phenomenon of gay culture that allows some audiences to see an aspect of their experiences reflected on screen while offering other audiences insight into our world.
